Our Leadership Team

Barry Froman

Barry was born in Brooklyn, NY but moved to Ohio at an early age. He attended Miami of Ohio University and earned a Marketing/Management degree. After a brief stint selling cookies he was convinced to join a recycling business in Dayton, OH in 1979 where he began his nearly 40 years of recycling experience. In the late 80’s he accepted an executive position at a recycling company in Phoenix, AZ. Then in 1997, Barry decided to go out on his own and started his own recycling company, Arizona Pacific Pulp & Paper. Over the years and from humble beginnings the company has grown through expansion and acquisitions into the multi-million dollar Recycle 1 family of companies offering an array of recycling services based in Phoenix, but serving all of Arizona with an international market base.

When he isn’t running his recycling company, Barry supports all of Arizona’s sports franchises and you may see him at a game. He and his wife also enjoy cruises and traveling in general and they aspire to visit every National Park within the United States.

Beth Villa

Beth Villa

President of Arizona Product Destruction

Born and raised in rural Ohio, when Beth wasn’t playing sports she spent her days on the back of a horse. She attended Ohio State University on a Track and Field scholarship, earning All-American Honors all 4 years. Upon attaining her undergraduate degree in biological engineering she was picked up by the United States Olympic Weightlifting Team. With this she moved to Arizona to train and was able to obtain her MBA while doing so.

While working toward her MBA, she began working for Arizona Center for the Blind & Visually Impaired Document Destruction (a company later bought by Barry) driving a truck. Through the years she grew with the company from driving a truck, to Plant Manager, to VP, and currently serves as the President of Arizona Document Destruction, Inc.

Her eclectic background has enabled her to grow the document destruction services into other related offerings such as product destruction and by-product recycling.

A World Champion Equestrian, she continues her early love of horses on her ranch in Apache Junction where she enjoys raising her triplets in an “old fashioned way”.

Michael Lipton at Recycle 1

Michael Lipton

President Arizona Pacific Plastics

My name is Michael Lipton and I want your plastic scrap! This may sound like the hard sell, but in reality we do need as much post-industrial, clean, plastic scrap we can process. As President of Recycle 1’s Plastics Division my job is to procure plastic scrap produced off of manufacturing lines and convert it into raw material that can be used by manufacturers of plastic products.

Many of our materials are then reused by companies making products like plastic bags, pallets, trash cans, outdoor decking, corner board and even clothing.

Our goal is to close the loop in the manufacturing process, provide an exceptional product for our customers and in turn keep plastics out of the landfill.

I’m a native New Yorker living in the desert with my wife, daughter and 4 cats. When I’m not knee deep in plastic resin, I enjoy cooking for family & friends, watching movies and playing with my daughter.
